Environmental / Industrial Hygiene Professional

You will be part of a growing team with opportunities for professional and personal growth and development. While your job duties may fluctuate day to day, here are some areas we expect to see you proficient in:
- Assessments for mold, water damage, sewage contamination, indoor air quality complaints, and more.
- All aspects of being a Mold Inspector including performing all fieldwork requirements, such as using thermal imaging equipment and moisture detection devices, collecting relevant data, observing field situations, documenting events, developing sample strategies for microbial growth including surface samples, air samples, and cavity samples.
- Interacting and communicating with property managers, facilities managers, homeowners, contractors, and others.
- Preparing detailed reports with conclusions and professional opinions.
- Ability to travel throughout the Shenandoah Valley, northern Virginia, and the D.C. area, work in the field, work outdoors, wear a respirator, and lift 50 lbs. is required.
Minimum 2 years of experience conducting mold inspections and assessments, writing detailed mold inspection/assessment reports, and writing mold remediation protocols. Professional certifications/licenses such as CMI, CMC, and D.C. Licensed Mold Assessor is preferred.
Experience conducting indoor air quality investigations, asbestos building inspections, environmental sampling (e.g., drinking water sampling, soil sampling, etc.), exposure monitoring and/or other industrial hygiene related work is a plus.
Certified and licensed Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Project Monitor licenses, Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor or other Health and Safety or Environmental certifications are a definitely plus and may open more opportunities.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a background check as clearance requirements for access to Federal facilities may be necessary and will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
